THEME: Regaining Your Lost Glory

MINISTER: Pastor E.A Adeboye

TEXT: 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Prayer Point: Father, we commit all the first borns into your hands, please bless them double.

There are advices you find in the word of God that are difficult to take. Everything written in the Bible is written by someone who loves you. Everyone can praise God when all is well like in Exodus 15:1-11. When the Children of Israelites saw the army of Pharaoh drown in the sea. 1 Samuel 2:1-10 – Anybody can sing if they just have a child. Acts 3:1-8 Someone can sing when they suddenly have healing.

Everyone of you in who need of a miracle will get one today.

It’s only genuine Christians can praise God in times of trouble. It takes someone who is totally surrendered to God can say what Job said in Job 19-25-27 “I know my redeemer liveth” and in Job 13:15

Acts 16:25 Only those who are totally surrendered to God can praise Him in prison.

David also praised God in time of trouble – Psalm 27:3-6

Why should we praise Him in times of trouble?

The best time to praise God is when it appears as if God has forsaken you. When you are praying and no answer seems to be coming. When it appears God has forsaken you, praise Him – Psalms 22-2-3.

If I feel that God is far from me how do I bring Him closer? I start praising Him because He inhabits the praise of His people. God is a spirit and those that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth.

When you praise Him, if it is the enemies that are troubling you, they are in trouble.
2 Chronicles 20:1-25

For some of you, things might be hard, if only you can praise Him, before tomorrow morning, you will have something to speak about.

If you can praise God when all is bad, He will make your enemies your footstool.- Joshua 6:20

John 11:35-44 The Bible said Jesus wept because His best friend and just died and have been buried. The statement of the sister of the one who died was an accusation against Jesus; Jesus wept. But within minutes He performed the greatest miracle of all; raising a man who has been dead for four days.

If only you can praise God today, the tide will turn for you.

Call for Salvation

Why must you give your life Jesus? The reason is you are going to need Him in times of sorrow. Many people don’t want to hear about Jesus when everything is going well. But when all the tide turns and you lose your influence then you will remember there is someone who said “I will never leave you nor forsake you”

If you are yet to give your life to Jesus, give your life to Him. You will need Him when there is no one who can help.

Praise God like never before. Give Him thanks today.
