OUR SHIELD AND DEFENDER
The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him. – Psalms 28:7
I want to thank God for the military, paramilitary and armed forces. No matter how small a Nation can be, they need these people for safety and security.
However, we all know their limitations because they are human beings – 2Samuel 21:15-17. Every person born of woman can get tired and fall asleep – 1 Samuel 26:14
Not only that, without divine intervention they can walk into an ambush – 2kings 6:8-10. Psalms 91:5-6 – The bible talks about unseen enemies; while the military fight physical forces, there are spiritual forces which no man can have defence against except God – 2Kings 5:1. This is why we are talking about our Shield and Defender. Only God is unlimited; He neither sleeps nor slumbers – Psalms 121:3-9, Isaiah 40:28.
Some of us rely on bodyguards – let your bodyguard be God. God can deal with the invisible forces of darkness – Isaiah 54:16-17
Doesn’t matter how many evil forces that gather against you, they will surely fail
God has the ability to blindfold those who come against you and arrest the arresters- 2Kings 6:8-20.
I decree, from this moment, any force that tries to arrest you shall be blindfolded and arrested
Long ago, people realised it is not enough to rely on humans alone for protection, so they tried to fortify themselves – they call it “fortification”. God made it clear, if you try to defend yourself against darkness with darkness you will end up in trouble – Jeremiah 17:5-6. It is only God that can protect you from any form of attack – proverbs 21:31.
That’s why I am appealing to those of you who haven’t come to the family of Jesus Christ; there is darkness everywhere. But, there is a Light that darkness cannot comprehend; the Lord Jesus Christ.
If you want to give your life to Jesus Christ, do so now. If you are not in Christ, you are in danger. He is the only one who can give you protection.
If you have not been attacked before, thank God for your life. But, the attack will surely come. Make sure you are in Christ before the attack comes.
Prayer: Father, Lord of hosts, I commit myself and my family into your care, please defend us and fight our battles.
