As we celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, it is apt to bring to our knowledge or perhaps reminder whom the Savior is.
Jesus is the image of God, first of every creation – Jesus Christ is everything God is and by Him were all things created. Colossians 1: 15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: 16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
He is the giver of life: It is through Jesus we have claim to eternal life, if we believe in Him. John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
He is the Atonement for our sins: Our sins are forgiven and washed away when we believe in Him. Col 1:14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
He is the reconciler of man to God: man lost fellowship with God when Adam fell but through Jesus we are reconciled to God and we have fellowship with the Father; if we believe in Jesus. Col 1:22 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:
He is the giver of peace: only Jesus can you give you true peace unlike the peace the world gives. His peace passes all understanding, peace that calms a raging storm. John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
He is the give of Joy: John 16:24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.
He is love: He gave himself up for us because of His undying love for us. 1John 4:16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
He possesses all authority in heaven and on earth: all things are possible for those who call on Jesus because He has the power to do all things. Matt 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, all power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.
He is our High Priest: He offered himself as sacrifice to redeem of us of our sins once and for all when His blood was shed on the cross. Heb 3:1 Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;
He is our Mediator: Christ reconciled us to the Father, by this we have the right to approach God through Christ who mediates for us. 1Tim 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
He is our Lord and Savior: Ultimately, the God-man Jesus is our Lord and Savior. He redeemed us from darkness and brought us to the kingdom of light. When we believe in Jesus we become gods, sons of the Most High and His spirit is released unto us. Ps 82:6 I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High. Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
