1Corinthians 1:7 ISV Therefore, you don’t lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly wait for our Lord Jesus the Messiah to be revealed.
1Corinthians 1:7 KJV …ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:
Christians must be conscious of the fact that the Believer has been given ability in Christ. One other thing we must be aware of and remember as we discuss the gifts of the Spirit is that we do not lack any Spiritual gift.
The King James Version of our text says that we do not come behind in any gift. We have been equipped for this ministry. We have been equipped with the utterance, revelation and power gifts. It’s for every one of us.
Mark 16:17-18 – KJV 17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18. They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
Jesus says that these things are for us who have believed! We are believers, so we are equipped.
1Corinthians 12:7 KJV But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.
“Every man” here is obviously not referring to every man in the world. It’s for every believer. It’s not every man that has the Holy Spirit. But it’s every believer that has the Holy Spirit! And we have received the manifestation of the Spirit to profit withal.
This of course, does not mean that we have the workings of the Spirit in and through us so that we can make profit.
No. It means that what we have received is for the common good. It’s to help the body and to serve as tools and vehicles to communicate the goodness and love of God.
Let this thought be with you today and beyond.
We are the ones who heal the sick, cast out devils, see visions and revelations by the Spirit. We prophesy (speaking forth the heart and intents of God concerning a person or a situation). We work miracles. We communicate the gospel in much authority, signs and wonders following.
Take out time and pray in tongues for this to really settle down in your heart.
Act 4:33 ISV With great power, the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and abundant grace was on them all,
Don’t forget to think on this as you pray in tongues! See yourself walking in all these realities.
The believer does not come behind in any gift. If you are not seeing results, it’s not God. God has supplied His ability, and His gifts and calling is without repentance! So don’t short change yourself. Don’t come behind!
