The Light Devotional: START WALKING WITH GOD.

Memorise: And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him. Genesis 5:24 KJV

Psalm 1:1-3 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.  2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper

Salvation is not the end point in your journey to eternal life with God; it’s just the starting point. It’s more than raising your hand to accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour and it’s far deeper than lip service and charismatic jamboree. The life of God that brings abundant life and peace requires adequate walk with God with unwavering determination to do His will. His commandments are not hard unlike the punishment and heartaches you will receive while walking and living with worldly friends and associates.

If you really want to be taken by God, you must begin a new walk with Him. Your old life will have to pass away and your lifestyles will be changed to conform with God’s heavenly standard. That’s why Apostle said to the Corinthians that all things will become new. Walking with God requires holy and righteous living with a strong determination to abide in Him. To abide and live the God kind of life, you’ll need to obey divine commandment as recorded in Psalm 15:2, to walk uprightly, and work righteousness, and in readiness to speak the truth from you heart at all times. Without these great attributes, God cannot replicate what He did to Enoch in taking you. If the Lord has taken you, your life cannot remain the same again. He will separate you from the world such that your sinner friends will see you no more but God’s glory. He will prepare you for your final home and rest. If you truly desire eternal life, drop your sinful walk and begin a fresh walk with your Maker and God. May you not walk in vain on the earth in Jesus’ name.

Pray with me: Father, please give me the grace to walk with you righteously and to inherit eternal life at last.
