WHY THE BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IS COMPULSORY FOR ALL CHRISTIANS

We are living in the dispensation of the Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit who has made the Father and Son real to us. Phil 3:3 For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh. It is the Holy Spirit who connects us with God.

John 14:26 “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name We must also come to the understanding that the presence of the Holy Spirit on earth is a continuation of Jesus’ ministry; He was once visible and could only function in a particular area. Now, He is invisible and the ministry is being formed in us through us. That invisible ministry began on the Day of Pentecost, and shall continue until the second coming of Christ.

Baptism of the Holy Spirit is the impartation of God’s nature/Spirit into man. Without this, a Christian though born-again cannot be regarded as a child/son of God. Rom 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. The presence of the Holy Spirit in us is a witness that we are His and we are indwelt by Him.

Galatians 3:27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. Apostle Paul, in the context, describes Baptism of the Holy Spirit has been baptized into Christ; being imparted with the Nature of Christ. Howbeit, if we are Baptized into Christ and Christ indwelt in us, then can we be partakers of the Abrahamic blessings which can only be received through Jesus. Gal 3:29 And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Furthermore, it is the Holy Spirit in us that affirms that we are sons of God -Romans 8:16. When Jesus was on earth, he referred to His disciples as “friends” John 15:15 because, they haven’t received the Spirit of God. It is those who have received the Spirit that are qualified to be called sons of God- John 1:12-13.

Without the Holy Spirit we cannot understand the deep secrets of God – 1Corinthians 2:9-12. Even the Disciples of Christ during His first ministry didn’t have a knowledge of whom they have been following; it took the intervention of the Spirit of God before Simon Peter correct answer to the question Jesus asked them about who He truly is- Matthew 16:17. Thus, it is the Holy Spirit that reveal unto us who the Lord is.

The Church has failed to manifest because there are numerous “born-again” Christians but there are few genuinely born-again Christians (John 3:3-5) ditto sons of God- Romans 8:19. Without the Holy Spirit in you, you cannot be regarded as a son of the Most High. The world is waiting for your manifestation. Phil 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. Without His Spirit you cannot walk/work in the fullness of HIM.

I therefore encourage you and I encourage myself and all Christian leaders, like the Day of Pentecost let us wait in worship and prayer for the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Let us desire the Holy Spirit. Luke 11:13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? God will surely release His Spirit if we ask of Him.
